Rose Tree Park
Rose Tree Park is located on Providence Road in Upper Providence Township, Pennsylvania, in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The park has a total area of 122 acres and is open to the public. In the park, you’ll find seats, picnic tables, a gazebo, a nature walk, an outdoor amphitheater, and three historic houses.
Along with offering recreational use to visitors, the park also hosts a variety of special events, including outdoor concerts, festivals, and more. Every summer, from June through August, Rose Tree Park hosts the Delaware County Summer Festival, an outdoor concert series that lasts nine weeks. The concerts are held in the park’s hilltop amphitheater and feature a broad selection of artists, festival singers, performers, and children’s entertainment.
From December to January, the Festival of Lights is held annually with a sparkling tree-lighting ceremony that sparks magic in the air for families to enjoy carolers, special speakers, and of course, visits from Santa.
Historic Old Tree Tavern
Within the park, you’ll find Old Tree Tavern, a historic inn, and tavern built in 1809. Since then, its undergone some frame structure renovations and was also moved about 100 yards from the original site due to road construction. The last renovation was done in 2011 and is now houses the Brandwine Conference and Visitors Bureau.
The tavern was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
